1. 基本構造
① time を含む接続詞表現
- the first time …「初めて…するとき」
- the last time …「この前…したとき」
- (the) next time …「この次…するとき」
- every[each] time …「…するたびに」（= whenever）
- by the time …「…するときまでには（すでに）」
② 「…するとすぐに」を表す接続詞
- the moment[minute/instant] …
- directly / immediately / instantly …
いずれも「Sが…するとすぐに、…」という意味で、SVを直接後ろに続けて副詞節を作る。
2. 差がつく識別ポイント
① 接続詞化した名詞・副詞
これらの表現はいずれも本来は名詞（time, moment, minute, instant）や副詞（directly, immediately, instantly）だが、接続詞として使われる際は後ろに直接SVを続けられる（thatなどを挟む必要はない）。
② by the time … と時制の関係
by the time … は「未来・過去のある時点までに（すでに完了している）」という意味を含むため、主節は多くの場合、現在完了・過去完了と相性がよい。

【問題3】解答：② Every time 「京都を訪れるたびに」という繰り返しのニュアンスを表す Every time が文意に合う。
